I received the 1.7.1 update tonight. Interestingly it is not my regular scheduled update time (that's Monday night). Also I've been away from home so it hasn't been connected to WiFi for a few days.

Here are the notes:

Ford F-150 Lightning Power-up 1.7.1 OTA Installed 76317AEA-57BE-4940-BF1F-98DC0AB306D8

CarPlay Apple Maps on the instrument screen works. Haven't had time to see what other bug fixes were installed.

Unfortunately, I am still on 1.4.0. I just checked to see if there was an update available and it says that I am on the "most recent" so hopefully I will be seeing it in the next week or so. I do like the idea of the Apple Maps on the instrument screen.

You don't need to be on WiFi for updates. That's what the cellular connectivity is for. My truck got this update a couple of days ago while my wife had it at her work. No WiFi.

When you get an update, you will have a vehicle status alert. You get the update info there.

Or, you can get an alert.

Man I wish there was a way to force updates. Its irritating that there newer software available for my truck but I have to wait around for Ford to send them to me someday. I can understand their decision to slow roll updates but if a customer makes a conscious effort to check for available updates they should be visible and able to be downloaded just like with iOS and Windows updates.

tnx, for some reason I don't have on my app what you have , updates should be automatically for everyone .... man I have so many warnings when I start my truck pre collision , hill descent assist, anti lock brakes , it makes me mad. Truck was at dealer and they said after 3 days it was bad ABS module and some other staff ...

Apparently mine updated and I did not get a confirmation on Fordpass. A couple of weeks ago I had a failed update. My Sync system was dead for about 20 minutes and I got notification that an update had failed and would be tried at a later date. Today I took a trip and my Apple Navigation is showing in the cluster, so I guess it updated and I did not get notified.

I also got a message in the Message Center last night that said "You're rolling with the latest update".

There isn't a way to check your current Power-Up version. Many mistakenly look in their Sync screen version, but that is entirely separate from the Power-Up stuff, as in your Sync version will usually not change as you get Power-Up updates. You can see the update history in OASIS, which dealers/Ford uses to check vehicle service history and that. I checked about a dozen VINs on the other site, and only two people had 1.7.1. I still don't have it yet nor is it pending. But most everyone had received 1.4 and 1.6 (except those with vehicle built after July since they would have those features off the lot).
