This wasn’t the type of dealer that cared that I was curious about the process. In the end, I just dropped it off and walked away. I also wanted to know what the root cause was. My guess is it was actually the service department that caused the prolonged issue but I’ll never know unfortunately.

That was one of the issues with mine as well. In fact it just went back in to the shop with the same vibration/noise. They called and said the replacement bearing had failed. I wonder if there was a bad run of bearings?
That sounds exactly like my issue. Turns out it was a loose axle nut. It necessitated the replacement of the axel and wheel bearing assembly. 7 days in the shop.
