Is anyone else upset that the price difference on the build tool for the XLT SR to the ER is a whopping $19,500? The pricing appears to be pretty close to the survey other than the XLT ER. The survey had it at $59,974, not $72,474. Why would anyone get a XLT ER for $72,474 when they can get the Lariat ER for $5k more?

My guess is that everyone that wanted an XLT ER is upset. And since that pushes people out of that build, it probably impacts some people planning on taking other builds. It's so high that many here wonder if it's a mistake.

Thanks for the heads up. I should have kept reading through posts. Let's hope it is a mistake.

It's not. They gamed us.
Well I hate to even say it but it's possible that the lariat ER battery is mistakenly included in the feature package. It's just not consistent to charge 10,000 for just the battery (if you buy an XLT) vs. 10,000 for the battery plus tow tech, moonroof, co-pilot 360 2.0, heated rear seats, etc. if you buy the lariat. It doesn't make sense to me. But I doubt I'm getting an invite so I can't worry too much about it.

Also for the XLT, you can have either Copilot 360 or Tow tech. Not both. Lariat gives you both

Well, its been said that the cheaper versions/trims get paid for by the more expensive versions/trims. I would expect that to be the case especially with the PRO cost.

The battery alone is at least $25-30K+ for the standard range in my opinion based on prices on fordparts for the mach-e battery pack (91.0 kWh).

I think your battery cost estimates are very high. The 91 kwh battery would be about 12k to produce. I haven’t seen it mentioned that larger batteries cost more after a certain size though.

“Lithium-ion battery pack prices averaged $132 per kwh in 2021—down from $140 per kwh in 2020—and $101 per kwh on a cell basis, the report said.

However, higher raw material prices are already pushing prices back up, according to the report, which predicted a $135 kwh average pack price for 2022. That could mean the point when prices drop below $100 per kwh—generally considered a crucial milestone for EV affordability—is delayed by two years, BNEF said.”

That price doesn't include the structural packaging to make it safe to use on a road vehicle, or the cooling lines and other support items. For that figure about the same cost (maybe a little less) as the module cost. So rough rule would be $100 per kWhr x battery size x 2 for packaging. ER pack is probably around 150kWhr full size, so around $30k
