Has anyone taken their truck to the dealer for service WITHOUT reverting the modules to factory settings? Is it really that big a deal?
As far as the dealer is concerned the truck is using the same as-built data Ford has!
When you make changes with Forscan on these new trucks the changes are stored in Ford database because the truck uploads the module configs.

If you were to have them replace a module the data that would be written back would be likely to contain the modified changes.

That's why they tell you to take a backup of the module before making changes

Well, shoot. And here I was thinking I was being all sneaky-like. :sneaky:

I see references in this thread and elsewhere of other Forscan procedures (bright DRL's, Glare Free lighting, etc) that are not in the spreadsheet that started this thread. Where can one find a list or source for these other available changes?

They are usually shared within this thread or this forum, just need to search for it. For everything related on SYNC 4 will be in the “SYNC, Audio, Nav, Phone, FORScan, FordPass, Driving Aids” category just like the one I posted for the LED Bar brigher mod I posted. I did however send every mod that I have done that isn’t on the FORScan spreadsheet to @Livnitup but that’s up to his discretion to add it to the main page of the spreadsheet.

I think some of the features you hear about are only available for earlier models as well. It probably takes time to figure everything out, I'm sure the list will continue to grow.

I was successful in my first outing with this forscan stuff. I thought I was messing up the window up/down function but I didn't realize that I needed to do all of the changes in that section and not just the two that talk about doing it with the remote.

I have a post out there for adding Adaptive Lighting + Glare Free
Enabling Adaptive Driving Beams for Trucks with Auto High Beams (TEST) | F150gen14.com -- 2021+ Ford F-150, Lightning EV, Raptor Forum (14th Gen) | Owners, News, Discussions
(Please note the warning you will receive on startup when enabled - I'm not sure if newer IPC firmware still throw the error)

I've thought long and hard about coming up with a web-based system that helps show you the exact changes to make for a feature but I can't think of a sustainable way to maintain it with all the different firmware and builds out there.

I hate using the spreadsheet at the time of making the changes

Made that change last night with no warnings after making the change to the HCM (long bed, no scales/ccd)

Okay
downloaded ForScan lite to my Apple stuff.
ordered the cables suggested.
Now I guess I need to download to one of my laptops.
One of the laptops is an I3 I think, it’s kinda old but still works—slowly
The other laptop is a “lightning fast” Spectra with an I7.

will the old one work okay? Or should I go ahead and put it on the new one?

I dont believe the licensing is able to be used on both.

Also kind of interested in installing an app to scan the GM cars.
Any suggestions on what to get for IOS?

Can your old one be capable of running the latest OS? For licensing, you won’t be able to use the same as both hardware IDs are different so you’ll have to request another one for the other hardware.

Well... since the idiotic state of California won't let my dealer reprogram my truck for the new, larger tires that THEY installed, I guess it's up to me and Forscan to do it.

But... I am more a little confused about the instructions...

According to the spreadsheet:
Ford F-150 Lightning 2021+ F-150 FORScan List / Database / Spreadsheet ? 1638311311381

My new tires are Nitto Ridge Grapplers LT285/65R20's.

According to "Spart's tire size calculator".... that means...

Ford F-150 Lightning 2021+ F-150 FORScan List / Database / Spreadsheet ? 1638311508025

So... that equates to 0A 6D mm in circumference, or 10 for the first two digits, but 6D equals 109... which is THREE digits.

According to the Nitto website, these tires have a diameter of 34.80" or 883.9mm, which means that the circumference of the tire is 2,776.8537mm. So, to me, that means that the first two digits should be "1B" (27) and the second two "4D" (77), not "0A" and "6D".

Or am I totally misunderstanding this whole thing. (Which is not out of the question.)

I didn't think about it too hard, but this is what the stock 20" tire size comes out to. I will be changing over to the factory 20" wheels and tires from the 17". I thought that it was converting the circumference from the calculation into a hex whatever for forscan.

I would use that as a starting point and then if it is still off use the GPS method. The tire size calculation worked for my new tires but with my buddies we needed to adjust slightly via GPS.

But that makes no sense to me either. That means the 1st two digits of your tire circumference in HEX is "09" and the next two are "F2"... 09 Hex equals 09 in Decimal, F2 in Hex is 242 in Decimal... so how can that be the 4 digits of the circumference of your tire when it's actually 5 digits when converted to decimal?

Use what as a starting point? The numbers from Spart's make no sense to me. I am just hoping someone can explain it. (I am actually a pretty technical guy... which is why this is frustrating me.)
