Trying to find ut how much lower a power step will be compared to the stock fixed side step. I know its wider (AMP research 6") but for some reason no one can tell me how much lower it is compared to the fixed side step.

Anyone?
Thx

The OEM power steps are 11 1/2" from the pavement to the bottom of the step at the front of the truck and 14" to the bottom of the step at the back of the truck, when extended. The steps are a trapizoid shaped and are a maximum of 2" thick. Measurements were taken on my platinum with the OEM 22 " wheels.

note that the motors on the steps are quite noisy.

I have the power deployed running boards on the Lariat trim I assume it's the same for the platty. I will agree they are a little noisey when going in and out but it does provide a much cleaner look. I honestly don't even use them as I'm over 6 feet tall but my kids need them to get in and out of the truck. Long story short you can have them disabled or enabled deeping on which key you approach with.

Also to note they do not have any running lights in them. I believe your model has lights in the board so keep that in mind as you will probably loose that functionality which makes no sense why the power boards don't get anyjghting. Considering they definitely a have a power source.

I just installed the Amp Power Step Visions this weekend. I did not take a before and after measurement, but here are photos using the body for reference so you can take your own measurements. The ground isn't a good reference point as my truck is leveled and on an incline, thus the body is the best reference.

Also note that the instructions are wrong for my 24'. The measurement for the rear board position needed to be 12.5" and the relocation brackets were needed for my Lariat.

I notice the motors/board only at the end of travel. They are just as loud as on my 2018 with OEM steps, that I think were AMP, but without an exhaust and running ICE, its heard. Doesn't bother me.
The instructions are a bit weak when it comes to routing the harness for our trucks. I took the beauty panels off around the frunk to help with the routing, but this was hands down 90% of the work. it was just tedious to make sure the loom wasn't resting on a moving or potentially thermal part.

I can tell you my body knows the board are lower because every time I get in my truck now, my leg comes down a little hard as its expecting to hit the board much higher when I get in. And getting out is much easier because the board is further away from the body.

My wife has MS and the retractable steps were easier for her.
