Add option(s) after build date determined not possible?

I did not order max tow package, so I decided to add it. I emailed dealer but they told me since VIN was assigned and build date has been set, they are not able to change the order. Is that true?

I was able to add the trailer step after vin was assigned, but that’s a lot more minor than Max Tow

I couldn't even change my paint color before they even started building trucks.

I think some options are no good probably the max tow is one as it's pretty integral ...

Some seem to be dependent on if your dealer wants to give any effort.

I was able add the tow package after my VIN was assigned through my dealer a few weeks before scheduled production (that has since been delayed like many others)

hmm, I guess dealer is too lazy. But not a big deal, I don't think I will ever need it.
