Well, about a year and a half ago i helped Tennesse Tech University do a study on ev's. Hats off to them btw for getting rural mountain communities in KY in the know on ev's. I was hooked for life!

But, alas, it took me this long to.finally find the "one" price was a huge factor because my old butt had to have a lariat. Once i drove it, and ford, i truly mean this when i say this, i kept.saying to all i talked with how Ford spared no expense in making this vehicle. They not only got it right, imo, its the best vehicle ive ever drove. They, imo, thought of everything, from the bed camera, to the scales, blue cruise, etc etc. Yesterday i just heard about the CEO bringing in the model t ev idea and love it! Bring the proces down, and you got it!!!

Also,.id like to say thank you.for this forum and ALL of you for the incredible advice and insight! It helped me tremendously!! So, heres to more knowledge with the lightning and hopefully we can help educate others to how valuable going ev is! Yes, im also a hippie!! Trying to help mother earth in the mountains of KY!

I also have the Lariat ER. I will also concur that this is the best automobile that I have ever owned or driven! I've had mine for 2 years and 4 months. Absolutely ZERO regrets! I will never buy another ICE vehicle again. :)

Interesting - thanks for the link.
in just six months, my Lightning has saved me $5,000 (USD) in "Not-Gas" driving in my rural NW. Ontario setting.
I have a solar-battery set up on the property and look forward to using the lightning battery in my energy storage system some day - even if it's SOH was 60% of new by then, it would be a valuable addition to the total energy storage system.

I think this is my third week of owning my Lariat ER. Like others have said many times in many places, I just can't imagine going back. And this truck specifically had the familiarity of the F-150 (it didn't try to be something new or quirky or extreme), but with the improvements of an EV.

The only way I could be happier would be if they did some kind of OTA update to the schizophrenic adaptive cruise/speed sign recognition/lane keep system. I dont think the people sharing the road with me enjoy me and my 6800 pound vehicle suddenly decelerating for no reason, even braking for illusions, and swerving about because the truck systems are hiccuping and seizing control in the wrong ways, while driving at high speeds, causing rapid changes at the worst times. It's literally dangerous right now. But my guess is until someone gets killed by it, they wont spend the money to fix it. Kinda like that line in Fight Club... if the cost of a lawsuit multiplied by the percentage chance of losing said lawsuit is less than the cost of preventative repair... there is no recall. I'm paraphrasing, but you get it.

But, leaving the cruise control off means I can safely enjoy everything else I love about the truck. Drives like a Rolls Royce, accelerates like a rocket, as utilitarian as a Swiss Army Knife. Great truck.

Glad you love your truck. Most of us on this forum do as well.

Would be great to have better software and update processes. I deactivated the speed sign recognition/speed adjust because it was so erratic. The cameras see signs on side roads, or some times read other randomness as a road sign. Alarming when the truck abruptly slows down, or thinks the 35mph zone is now 80mph.

Simply turn off sign recognition. Done.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you sit in your truck and go through each and every setting you have. Click on the "i" if you don't understand something.

Ditto - I forced myself to do this when I got the Lightning, and then a couple times since as I got familiar with the operation and settings. It was a bit of a learning curve but now I know what I can and can't do or change.
Next up: review what they change each time there is a OTA update !

same here. I'm 70 and have owned too many vehicles to count and this is by far the most fun to drive, and has beat my expectations handily. (Three of my past vehicles were Corvettes... '65,78,85 and Sparky would smoke all three.... easily)
