Andy,
The Electric Vehicle Association is partnering with the Clean Vehicles Campaign to launch the Freedom to Drive project in July and August.

A news media event is being organized on July 16 in Virginia Beach. The location hasn't been confirmed; this likely will be held mid-morning-noon to maximize local media participation.

The news reporters will want to talk with EV owners, so I'm reaching out to ask for your help to alert EVA chapter members who might be interested in driving their EVs to Virginia Beach. EVA can provide a hotel room if members prefer to drive in the night before. They're looking specifically for Ford F-150 Lightning and GMC Hummer EV owners, but similar vehicles can be used.

I anticipate the time commitment will be 1 hour on the morning of the news media event.

The Freedom to Drive campaign will also feature events in Savannah, Georgia and Lansing, Michigan. Full details will be announced soon, but here's the main messaging for this summer effort:

What is Freedom to Drive?

We believe that driving electric is about more than just new technology; it's about embracing a new kind of freedom:
  • Freedom to Drive the Vehicles of Our Choosing: Explore the diverse and exciting range of electric vehicles available today.
  • Freedom to Choose the Fuel We Want: Say goodbye to gas stations and hello to powering your ride with cleaner, domestically produced electricity.
  • Freedom to Save Money: Discover the significant savings EVs offer through lower fuel and maintenance costs.
  • Freedom to Not Pollute: Breathe easier knowing you're contributing to cleaner air and a healthier planet for our community.
Any EVA chapter members interested in participating in this news media opportunity can contact me.

Thank you!
