New 2023 lariat er, strong sound from center front speaker, if I move the fade/balance around I can hear sound very faintly from the other speakers. This is my first new vehicle in 24 years, where do I start to fix this?

It sounds like you have a faulty amplifier, or it needs a software reset. The center channel is powered by the head unit instead of the amplifier.

There was a thread on this a few months ago. It started happening after a software update. One fix reported was to go to the audio settings and toggle the setting between stereo and surround.

Mine has done this twice but was resolved after turning the truck off/on (Spring 2023)... It might have been fixed with a software update because I haven't had it happen in a while.

That's what fixed it for me. I never thought to check the forum.

My truck does this every once in awhile. My fix has been to change the radio station from SiriusXM to FM Radio and then it turns all the speakers back on. Then you can change back to SiriusXM.

maybe some year ford will get a software team that can actually write something......

Seems back to working correctly. I thought it was odd since it was fine on the test drive. Thanks for the replies!

Yup. Mine used to do this all the time. At first was a big deal because even an ignition cycle wouldn’t fix it but then I discovered the simple toggle surround/stereo fix so at least I could easily resolve it.

That said this thread made me realize I haven’t seen it happen in a while so I’m guessing an update did do something to finally resolve it.
