MY2023 Lightning -- More Options?

The more I think about it, the more I really just want more color options for 2023. Eruption Green please Ford!

I've called in to ford corporate in the past to ask if I could order a previous Gen ford pallot color if I'm actually ordering what I want, because why can't I choose another ford color, but the folks on the phone say it must be a color on the current pallot. I would like sunset metallic....but nope can't have it... I would like a two tone lariat lightning, nope, can't have that apparently either. So much for what I really want.....so I feel ya brother.

I am all about Green if they offered it. I'd love to do 2 tone green/white or maybe an Eddie Bauer Green tan paint job.

No worries, I want to do a circuit pattern on the side, so they will look very different anyways!

I will also take a nice yellow if they offer it. Yellow with the blue Lightning highlights would look great IMO.

You can wrap a truck with whatever color or pattern you want for around $3K. Black is the easiest color to wrap, it hides and slight edge imperfections well.

Any body shop can make your truck a two tone Eddie Bauer style paint job for probably the same $3K. Most good body shops (spraying PPG or similar quality paint) lifetime warranty the paint.

Tom already knows a guy and I have plans for my lightning. It'll either be an AntimatterBlue-white stripe or if Ford hears my prayer a Green-White stripe from the 1980s F series. Maybe something like below with antimatter Blue and either a white or grey

I’ve driven electric ( Bolt, Volt, and hybrid Prius) as an early adopter since the first availability. My current 2017 Bolt LT had a 238 mile range (limited now to 80% now because of the fire recall—to be replaced with a new 258mile, 8 year warrantee battery at NC). I have had ne real need for a bigger range for daily use, and fast charging has worked for me on 300 mile trips. I will be keeping the Bolt. My need is for a rlacement for my 2000 Silverado 2500 HD. Either the Ford Pro or the Silverado EV with the smaller price and lower range will work fine for me, my 30 acre hobby farm, and my retirement budget. My Ford reservation puts me at a punt 80,000 down the list, My Silverado reservation was within the firstt 3 minutes, so it is not unlikely that my opportunities will both occur about the same time. If Ford raises prices or makes there Pro unavailable, I will be selecting the Silverado

Unless you are going for the Silverado first edition (at $115k), the Lightning should come well before the Silverado. Ford is ramping production of the Lightning to a rate of 150k/yr. by mid 2023, so you 80k in line position (mine is about the same, maybe a little later) should easily be a ~mid 2023 truck. The work truck version of the Silverado isn't slated to come out until 2024.

Ford is ramping production of the Lightning to a rate of 150k/yr. by mid 2023, so you 80k in line position (mine is about the same, maybe a little later) should easily be a ~mid 2023 truck.

Ford said they want to get to a rate of 600k total EVs by the end of 2023 so I'm sure they will get through all the reservations by mid 2023 unless they just refuse to build pro and XLT trucks.
It will be interesting to see when they start allowing orders from non-reservation holders, what trims they will open, and how quickly those trucks get built.

I believe that Ford WANTS to build as many F150Ls as it can sell profitably and will sell every F150L that they build. I am not convinced that they will meet their production targets, though I wish they do. Time will tell.
