Like all unibody trucks, the Cybertruck is smoking hot garbage.
Why is unibody worse than body-on-frame on a half-ton truck? Maybe you have less NVH but I can't think of other benefits vs a modern unibody.

Higher chance of bending the unibody structure while towing.

Inability to swap out the bed for other "modules" behind the cab to customize for work truck applications.

You can total a unibody truck loading the bed improperly or having something slip while loading. Dent the bed of a body on frame truck? NBD. If you really bend it badly, replacing it is a straightforward exercise.

Sure, if you're just using it to go to Whole Foods, not really a worry. If you're hauling motorcycles, yard stuff, furniture, appliances, and even engines, aka normal suburban truck stuff, it's actually pretty important.

I didn't realize this, but the 2025 Lightning (Codename Project T3) is going to be a possible unibody? Will it be accepted then.

The CyberTruck still may be a Pontiac Aztec but I still have a reservation for it to trade the Lightning on. My current logic is because the base Tesla is still the Lariat+ level of a Ford in tech features. Also I want the mini-RV that gives you the HVAC in the vault with the passthru 2nd row (like the Chevy).

After you are married looks be damned 😅 and zero F's given of what folks think of you!

Dude, I'm hauling bigger, heavier things in our maverick hybrid than most of the heavy duty trucks in our neighborhood. It's not a problem. One of the biggest selling points about the maverick is how beefy it is for what it is. It's a tiny little truck that can handle more worth in the bed than most raptors.

The maverick is currently Ford's most reliable model, with well above average reliability ratings. It'll never be able to tow 30k lbs, but a super duty will never get 50 mpg. For your average truck owner, who only needs to use the bed occasionally, the maverick is a solid option. I wouldn't recommend dropping concrete in the bed from 20 feet in the air, but O wouldn't recommend doing that to an f-150 either.

Not entirely sure how this thread veered into Maverick fandom, but when it comes to unibody truck-like things, the Cybertruck won’t be able to match the Maverick’s capabilities.

I am also kind of confused when you’re talking gas mileage on the EV Lightning forum, because the Lightning is far cheaper to run than the Maverick. It’s not even close.

CyberTruck comments on F150 forum: it’s hideous; so ugly; lipstick on a pig…. Comments on the same pics in the CyberTruck forum: it’s awesome; sick; cool…..
Apparently beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'll keep my Lightning after I pick up my Cybertruck. I can see why many are almost offended by the CT. I have to see if I can get used to the looks and the minimalist interior.

My wife loves her Model Y and I appreciate what an excellent advancement it is as far as software, UI and charging network.

I'll give it a go and make a decision on the acceptable appearance of the Lightning vs the polarizing looks of the Cybertruck. Part of me likes the dial, buttons and familiar feel of the Lightning, but I have a feeling the Cybertruck may surprise many.

I also feel like FSD will be close to reality with hardware 4 in the truck when I get it late spring/early simmer next year. If it autonomous I'll keep it no matter what as it could create income for me and I'll drive the Lightning and let the SS truck taxi people around.
