Got the blind-spot sensor inoperative warning
Discovered a hairline crack in the turn-signal housing and water in the housing
Dried the housing and repaired the tiny crack with clear epoxy
Still got the alarm
Disconnected the sensor and found water in the connector, dried it, cleaned it with contact cleaner, and applied silicone dielectric
Still got the alarm
Disconnected the 12V battery for 10 min.
Still get the alarm
Could there be water trapped in the sensor itself?
Can the clear cover be pried off the sensor without breaking anything?
Any other suggestions?

Likely not applicable, but still worth a shot cuz it's free but did you clear the DTC?

Post the error code you're receiving, others here will likely chime in then. Sensors on the whole are generally not repairable.

There was a defect in my tail light blind spot sensor that showed up right after I bought the truck. No crack or water, just a finicky sensor that would shoot out errors every few days and then be good again. I brought it in and they replaced the sensor inside the right tail light. They did not replace the tail light. It never happened again after that. So if your question is, can you replace the sensor without getting a new tail light, the answer is yes. Not sure if that is what you are asking though.

the codes are 7EA, 7EE, and 7EC.
But those seem to be generic communication codes, so my code reader is probably too old and does not recognize the Lightning codes?
Will any new code reader work with the Lightning, or do I need something special?

I epoxied the tail light so it is OK. I would not mind replacing the sensor, but apparently the new one must be programmed by the dealer at 10X the cost of the sensor.

Ever hear of Forscan? It might work to program it otherwise to the dealer you must go.

Yes, I downloaded Forscan for work on my 2011 F-150 but have not used it with the Lightning, and frankly I never learned to use it very effectively.
