Console to column shift swap mod?

I would say, for the level of simplicity it sounds like you're looking for, probably not. The complexity isn't majorly the connector to the shifter, it's that a lot of the wiring is tied into that center console. Once you remove the center console and free the wiring, it's not difficult to relocate a rotary shifter but it's not trivial to uninstall the console and put it back in.

I was thinking the process would be straightforward (1-2 hours of work) if I followed a procedural tutorial like this one:


The question is where to go from there? Can I just connect the rotary shifter to one of the exposed plugs highlighted in the attached images with an adapter?
