I would say, for the level of simplicity it sounds like you're looking for, probably not. The complexity isn't majorly the connector to the shifter, it's that a lot of the wiring is tied into that center console. Once you remove the center console and free the wiring, it's not difficult to relocate a rotary shifter but it's not trivial to uninstall the console and put it back in.
Thanks for the quick reply!

I was thinking the process would be straightforward (1-2 hours of work) if I followed a procedural tutorial like this one:

The question is where to go from there? Can I just connect the rotary shifter to one of the exposed plugs highlighted in the attached images with an adapter?

Would standard bench f150 trim fit the center to complete that?

Sorry I thought I replied to this. I forget exactly... you definitely still need some of the things on the harness that was in the center console. For example, the module that determines if your key is in the car is part of that.

The shifter plugs into that right plug, basically (near passenger footwell)

Basically. I believe one of the a/c vents needs to be trimmed. See pulpo grande on regular f-150 forum, I believe it's shared earlier in here

No worries, thanks for the reply! Good to know it's the far right plug. That saves me a lot of time.

Ok, I'm going to take it apart and see what hack job I can accomplish in a week or so. Maybe I can bypass the key detector by just using PAAK for a couple of months while I need the sixth seat.

Hey s_c! I started the process and noticed the plugs are a different size. Did you mean #3 in this diagram?

The plug on the back of my shifter is 3cms and the plug near the passenger footwell is 4cm. Do I need to build an adapter to make this work?

Thanks!!

Sorry sorry i just reread your post and saw that you're looking to use rotary shifter not column shifter. In that case it plugs directly into the same plug as stock console shifter. You just have to remove the harness from console. Which is a pain but doable. I wouldjt want to put it back in but its possible also

No worries! and darn, I was afraid of that.

The cleanest move in my part might just be to buy a secondary harness so I'm not disassembling it from my console whenever I need 6-seats. Ideally I can make the 6-seat swap out as easy as possible as I'd mainly like to keep it stock.

I'll see if I can find the part number for the harness on my 2022 Lariat. I did find this (NL3Z-14A318-U), but I need to do more research to make sure. If you happen to know part number that would be super helpful.

Thanks again for your help!
