So had a charge experience at a brand new EA station today. Temp at 20 degrees. Lightning was plugged in at 120v trickle charge prior to this. Drive 15 min at avg 45 mph to the charger. Lightning accepted 36kw for 30 min. Unplugged and replugged in same charger and no change on charge rate. This is one of the new EA chargers that said what the truck will accept and it was only asking for the 36kw. After this attempt (approx 40 min on the charger) unplugged and replugged at the adjacent charger. Started at 120kw and peaked at 168kw.
I knew the cold battery would throttle the charge, but any other experiences out there? Anyone have a typical time on a DCFC for it to warm up a cold battery?
