You can disable the reverse beeping sound without any tools and in about 15 seconds. So far I haven't seen any errors or notifications on console after doing this. I still plan on buying the bypass from megaohmmotorsports.com to be safe.

Does this also disable the pedestrian warning sound when in motion?

Be aware if you do this, you may open yourself to civil / criminal litigation if you run over someone.

Bypassing a safety feature is not recommended.

Sure sure, this is for offroad use only ;)

Driving up to my pregnant wife's window while she is trying to sleep with a BEEP BEEP BEEP is more dangerous than leaving it enabled. Plus the car is not silent, it still has tire and fan noise.

I looked into the legal implications further. I do not believe you would be criminally charged because there isn't a law requiring the user has it enabled. However there may be liability issues in a civil suit. I will be keeping mine enabled, unless I am overlanding and want to not alert wildlife to my presence.

The Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) is only active to 18mph. So if you disabled it, you better hope you were following traffic laws and going faster than 19mph if you hit someone.

The '21 Powerboost I traded was probably as loud as the one in the video. I considered several ways of attenuating the volume, and planned on doing that until my Lightning arrived.

I can barely hear the Lightning sounder at all. So I'm leaving it alone. I wonder though if there's some sort of volume adjustment screw on that speaker unit. Cause there's a dramatic difference between the one on my Powerboost vs. the Lightning.

I disconnected my connector and on the second drive, a "service now - pedestrian warning device failure" alert popped up. I plugged it back in *sigh*.

You need the delete that one individual made, or you can make it yourself.

I did see that one offered. It is quieter compared to the 2021 models I've heard, so maybe I'll just leave it alone.

My reply was addressing the person above who said it didn't throw errors. It took 2 drives for me but started throwing them then.

Bless you for making this video, but based on what I've seen when others have shown how to disable noisemakers on other EVs, I don't envy the s***storm of negative commentary you'll probably receive.

Man I not looking forward to backing up my travel trailer and everyone in the campground hearing a dump truck sound. They already stare at me enough for being slow but now I will really get the attention lol.
