  1. Disabling Reverse Beep and Droning Sound

Happy customer here, well done product. It includes a 3D printed cover for the connectors to the speaker to protect them from the elements. To anyone with safety concerns, even with this product installed the vehicle still makes a lot of noise. Due to the lack of a belt attached to an idle...
  2. 2023 Lightning Build and Price is Live .... $5000+ increase in price

I don't understand blaming ONE party for inflation. Its happening all over the world at the same time, US, China, Europe, Africa. Perhaps inflation is not due to any specific people, but due to circumstances... like supply and demand? Ford will sell maybe 15k or less Lightnings in 2022. Selling...
  3. 1PD - is it too severe for regen or is it me ? Drove 60 miles yesterday and found 1PD very intrusive...

I plan to do some testing, but there appears to be a minimum level of resistance that regen needs to get the voltage/amps high enough to recharge the batteries. Look at the animation on the dash, the regen bar shows when energy is flowing into the battery. It doesn't show a flow if the green...
  4. Did they mess up the frunk opening?

The more I use it, the more I think someone at Ford made a simple error when programming the frunk opening sequence. Opening sequence. 1) Unlatch 2) Beep 3 times 3) Opening motion Closing sequence. 1) Beep 3 times AND close at the same time 2) Latch closed. When you think about it the closing...
  5. How is BlueCruise for you?

Interesting. I fished around and it seems Ford wanted $600 for 3 years of Bluecruise. That is $16.67 a month. I use Netflix as the benchmark to gauge the value of anything as a digital service. For $15 I can get 20+ hours of service a month. The amount/places I drive I would use Bluecruise...
  6. How is BlueCruise for you?

My feedback Over all I love it. + Hands free is so much nicer than I thought it would be. Being able to rest your hands on your lap is very nice. + No ping pong for me. Although I have heard this before and it caused me to realize humans ping pong when they drive too. Just watch the people in...
  7. My Stone Gray XLT Lightning on 2" Rough Country leveling kit, 20" RTX Patton wheels, 285/65/R20 BFG KO2

The lowest point is in the front. I have measured it at ~9". So what is the estimated increase? 2"(lift) + 0.75"(tires) = 2.75"?
  8. My Stone Gray XLT Lightning on 2" Rough Country leveling kit, 20" RTX Patton wheels, 285/65/R20 BFG KO2

~10% drop is right in line with what a lot of other people are mentioning for a lift. Totally worth it for the look, ride and clearance in my opinion. If you can charge daily it should never be an issue.
  9. My Stone Gray XLT Lightning on 2" Rough Country leveling kit, 20" RTX Patton wheels, 285/65/R20 BFG KO2

This looks so good! Thank you for sharing. Based on the math (+2" level) + (+1.5" Tire size) + (8.9" clearance) = 12.4" clearance. Are you able to confirm the new clearance?
  10. Ouch!! First Electric Bill since getting the Lightning….yikes!

@Pjlightning By your logs I see 70% offsite. ~94kWh 167 at home. ~224kWh It looks like they charged you on average $0.26 per kWh. 0.26 x 224 = $59.12 to use your truck. 224kWh would get you around 471 miles at 2.1kWh per mile. At CT average gas price $4.363 on a ICE F150 (20mpg combined)...
  11. Lightning regenerative braking

Not according to the "Braking Coach". The instrument panel pop up that tells you how much you regened every time you come to a full stop. Using the brake reports a <99% score, 100% of the time. Using 0 brakes with 1PD reports 100% score, 100% of the time. Unless you mean using the brake pedal...
  12. Cover for Frunk Emergency Release Button

Home Depot has some but they are stolen a lot so they might not be in stock. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Magnet-3-4-in-Dia-Neodymium-Rare-Earth-Magnet-Discs-with-Foam-Adhesive-5-Pack-97614/206503484 Similar ones on Amazon Strong Neodymium Disc Magnets Double-Sided Adhesive, 20 x 3mm Pack...
  13. Metal ‘tink’ sound rear of cab

Inside the cab? My tow hitch makes that noise on bumps.
  14. Cover for Frunk Emergency Release Button

Here is my solution. Self adhesive magnets, plus a switch cover with built in magnets. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J6HF9T6 It took a little bit of shaving with a dremel tool.
  15. 3" lift, 35s, 20" wheels on Lightning by Adventure OffRoad Chino Hills

Details: 3 inches using a ReadyLift lift kit 35” NITTO 20” KMC Wheels No info provided on what needed to be cut/trimmed.
  16. Silly Complaint - No Auto Down/Up Rear Windows

First time F150 owner here. The rear sliding window is AMAZING. Even with all 4 large windows open you get a lot of turbulent air that feels like someone is slapping you on the left and right side of your head repeatedly. Not to mention wind buffeting and noise. As soon as you open that rear...
  17. First crashed INTO Lightning?

    Dibs on the salvaged battery!
  18. Comparing the cost of a DIY to Ford Intelligent Backup

I want to do an exercise in comparing what it would cost to build a DIY energy backup system and compare it to the Tesla Powerwall and Ford’s solution. I am using $5,000 for the installation price of all systems with a professional electrician because the estimates I am finding range wildly. I...
  19. LFP batteries worth waiting another year for?

I do not believe the cost savings would be realized by the consumer. I would only consider LFP if you plan to make heavy use of the Power to Home feature. The increase cycles and better charging profile would help a lot there. Buy electricity at off-peak rates and power your home with the truck...
  20. Warning against IR cameras

If you plan on getting a dash cam with an internal camera, do not get one that is sensitive to IR. Many internal cameras (popular with Uber/Lyft drivers) use IR to illuminate the inside of the vehicle at night. The problem is if you have Blue Cruise, its own IR cameras use a light source that...
