2023 Lariat ER
Hello folks,

I'm a happy owner of a used 23 ER lariat for about two months now. I have been using iphone PAAK feature almost exclusively, and it has been flawless: no delays, glitches or issues on approach or startup. However, when I tried to just use a fob the other day, I discovered that both fobs function for locking/unlocking but are not recognized by the truck for starting (even when placed in cup holder fob slot: “no key detected”). Replaced batteries in both, did not fix the issues.

I have been digging around online but haven't found these exact issues. Resetting truck (disconnecting & reconnecting 12v battery) seems to potentially be a solution, but I'm afraid to do that in case I just introduce more issues/errors. Is there any harm in trying?

Again, PAAK and password start are working just fine, but fobs are not, so not really an emergency worth a dealer visit, but also at a loss of what to do. Worth noting that the truck is now outside 36k warranty - so trying to troubleshoot myself. Anyone run into this? Any help greatly appreciated.

Welp - I figured it out. Leaving post up in case it helps someone else diagnose this issue.

After installing the rotary dial shifter I forgot to plug back in the key/fob transmitter (?) device under the cup holder. I guess this connector can fall out over time as well (noted on other f150 forums), so may be useful for someone in the future.
