Trucks not even a month old and got a stone chip on windshield. I remember I got like 3 right away on last F150, then I got a bug deflector and not one chip in ten years. I’m now reminded this is needed! Ugh, NY roads are filled with potholes/stones

That’s the one I went with along with the flat window deflectors like shown on the blue truck at beginning of thread. Lays flat on hood. Held on with 3M tape. Looks really nice. I like it better than the ones that have the gap. Good Luck.

I got the flat OEM one. Can anyone confirm that has it that it actually does a decent job “defecting” bugs and stones?

My last truck had one with a small gap and worked great. Just want to make sure before I install.

Part I got is VML3Z16C900A

Does it deflect bugs and stones good? Assuming it’s the flat style
It stands of the hood about a 1/4".
Yes seem to work fine
Have one on my 18yr old sport track
Still like new.

Thanks. I ended up installing it this weekend. Just did a road trip, definitely not as good as the ones that stick out a tad. We will see long term if it protects me from rocks. It does look good

Just ordered one...Good place to use my "points" earned with new truck.
Thanks for the help everyone..
Interesting that there is a gap. I got mine from Ford and it was installed when I picked up the truck. There is no gap at all on this one. The Ford sticker just peeled off .

Sorry I don’t know if it’s the same part number.

Have a look at my picture to the left. It is an AVS Aeroskin Hood Protector #322196 for $85 cdn. It sticks onto the hood with 3M tape with no gap. I had bought it before my truck was delivered, along with AVS window visors.

I bought the AVS, easy install, and works good.

Hmmmmmm, wonder why mine stands off the hood .
It's also a Ford dealer install.
I think I like the one with no gap.
Now I'm going to talk to my dealer about it.
