Improved Sunglasses Holder, keep glasses from falling out while open?

I like to keep the sun glasses holder open while I'm in the truck so I don't leave a pair of glasses behind on accident and have them craze in the heat. My old Toyota this worked out fine, however in the Lightning if that holder is open, right pedal application even slightly aggressive will send any pair of glasses in there tumbling out, frequently then rolling off the console into the back seat.

Has anybody found a mod or a replacement that holds glasses in place even while open? I've thought about maybe a magnetic strap or something, but wanted to see if there was a working solution before I dig into it.

I find the rubberized tray on the dash behind the touchscreen makes an excellent alternative glasses holder. It’s just grippy enough to prevent sunglasses from sliding around.

I've found that closing the sunglass compartment solves the problem. Works really well.

Seriously though, I face my glasses forward and haven't had a problem with them falling out even when open.

Not the way I drive lol- But I agree, that's where I put my sunglass for the most part. Only had one pair fly out the open side window in this vehicle so far when fun momentarily overtakes. I bet there's some 3d printable models that would help out.

To the OP's ask; I have to put my sunglasses in [lenses up, temple pieces down] and put two rubber pads to catch the temple pieces of the glasses to solve your issue. The first set of rubber pads were just kitchen door/drawer bumpers but the heat melted the adhesive. I found some little 3M adhesive backed dots years ago that I use for all sorts of things, and they solved this issue also. I just realized that two dots of silicone in the right spot would also mimic this.

That's how I usually put them in, do you have a photo by chance of where you put the dots?

Well closing it does certainly fix the issue, but I have a bad habit of forgetting they're in there, and this time of year I've had the lenses in one pair craze from the heat. Leaving it open is a great visual cue to remember to grab them. The cubby on the dash works well in terms of holding them, but again the glasses are out of sight when they're there, if I forget them there, and don't put up the sun-shade in the window, the sun beating down on them crazes the lenses. Maybe I just need to break down and get Lasik so I don't have to carry around multiple pairs of glasses .

My solution is to not use it. I use a visor clip that holds two pairs of glasses. One holds sunglasses and the other reading glasses. Both pairs live in the truck so they stay there when I get home.

That thought had crossed my mind as well. I went looking to see if there was anything out there to fix my issue, and didn't find anything, but did see several upgrades for mounting buttons in place of the sunglasses holder, or a ham radio faceplate.

I find visor mounted stuff seems to get in the way a lot, but was thinking maybe I could mount a visor glasses clip under the edge of the panel behind the sun glasses holder.
