Has anyone on here put auxiliary switches in their pickup for off-road lights? Trying to determine the best mounting location. Right now I’m thinking the pane where the trailer backup assist would be, that just has a flat cover on it. Does anyone know if that cover just pops out, or if there is something more holding it in there? Don’t want to start pulling and breaking things if I don’t have to. The flat panel I’m talking about is here to the left of the radio and above the trailer brake controller.

I am holding out waiting on Boosted Graygoose to come out with the upfitter switch for the overhead console.

I'm in the middle of this now...
I have an XL STX that doesn't have the extra upfitter switches but I'm wondering if the wiring is there even though it doesn't have the extra switches installed from Ford. I know in the past Ford has left wiring and harnesses in trucks from the factory that don't have certain packages or equipment like a rear defroster (where the pigtail connector and wiring were present even though the glass didn't have the defrost lines) on some of the lower trim levels. I'm tempted to see how much the Tremor switches are, due to the similarity in the overhead console, and research to see if the wiring is present or not. If all else fails, a rocker switch in the blank dash plate above where the headlight and lighting controls are to the left of the steering wheel would be a better spot to wire up an easy switch, considering the firewall is inches away from that location. Higher trim levels use that spot for mirror lighting and all sorts of cool stuff. Another spot I was thinking of, but not as convenient, was the blank "4A" (4WD Auto) spot under the 2WD button is, mine doesn't have 4A so there is just a blank there...
