2025 Ford f150 Lightning Flash
Hello all. New guy here. Bot one on 9-30 the last day of the EV credit. Long story. Wanted one back when you had to preorder for a hundred bux. Wife said to wait till they worked the bugs out. Put on back burner till last fall. Test drove one and figured out what I wanted in a Flash with what options and wanted a white one. Searched dealers within 500 miles of me. Wanted the 7500 ev tax credit and 10,000 off sticker. Got no takers and no one close. Decided to wait till Christmas to work the dealers but we traveled so it didn't happen and put on back burner again. Here come August and I hear the tax credit is expiring so I search occasionally still no takers. Middle of September I start calling more dealers. Third week we travel and don't get a chance to call. Down to 4 days to go and call all the dealers with the vehicle I want. Get to 9-29 and best deals are 6,100 dealer discount off sticker plus ev credit and down to two dealers, one 230 miles away on a black one and a white one that is an additional 200 miles away except they wouldn't give me a final written contract. Spend the night in KC across from that dealer and look at the black one and after repeated calls to the sales manager with the white one for a final written contract and not getting one, I bot the black one.

I specifically wanted the Flash and the Max Trailer Tow Package for 1,100 plus the Pro Power Onboard 9.9 KW for 1,200. The tailgate step and work surface came with it at no charge. Mobile power cord was 600. Only other option was 1 year blue cruise for 495. After using it for a trip I think it is worth having blue cruise so far. So the sticker in Kansas City came in at 73,585. Less dealer discount of 6,104, less ev credit of 7,500 equals 59,981. Add back in dealer admin fee of 519 and I paid 60,500 cash out the door. While I was looking and talking to the salesman while waiting to see if that other dealer would send me a written contract I noted this one didn't have the 18 inch spare tire and didn't even have a jack in it. So when we made the deal the salesman drove it over to their used car lot and got a spare tire from another ford f150 and we got a jack from another lightning on the lot.

This one was a pre July 2025 model that did not have the additional 2000 bux added to the sticker price and also this one was built in April and it have the 131/143 KWH extended range battery in it which many of the white ones I looked at didn't. So in the last few days of dealing on 10 vehicles, half were pre July and half were post July. All of the post July dealers said they just couldn't come down that additional couple grand. And some of those were built with out source materials due to the tariffs so they were getting a ford 7500 buck reduction in lieu of the ev credit.
My dealer had a white one that was post July if I wanted to pay the extra couple grand for the color and I chose not to.

Part of that dealer discount was the 500 buck ford rebate for electrical work since I did my own installing of a Chargepoint hardwired unit I bot off of amazon for just over 500.

All I will be doing is local highway driving, either 30 miles, 60 miles, 120 miles, or 150 miles a day so this works for me I hope. I did have a trip come up to San Antonio which was a 1400 mile round trip.

I added about 5 different apps for charging companies. I used the ABRP app for trip planning. I also learned that Tesla superchargers had the best deals cost wise so I joined Tesla for one month for 12.99 which I will stop for just this month and can restart anytime. It give me the Tesla chargers for .33 per kwh which was a lot cheaper than a the others that were wanting around .56 where I had to use a couple. I think there is another place to post about trips.

Now I just need to buy the accessories like floor mats, screen protectors, mud flaps, rhino bed lining, some type of tonneau cover, etc.

When I was in San Antonio they had to park it in a building downtown and the valet said it would take an extra half hour to get it because of the tail light thefts going on down there. Apparently they are worth up to 6000 on the black market with all the electronics in them and easy to steal so I need to add some anti theft devices on the tailgate before I get it rhino lined.

‘25 XLT Standard Range - Antimatter Blue
A bit late to post this, but last month I took delivery of my 2025 XLT Antimatter Blue lease!

I’ll admit that I don’t have all the nice features (mainly missing key-less entry) but it has more than enough functionality to make up for it. The frunk is so practical I love it and the driving dynamics makes my commute much more enjoyable.

“Lifetime” efficiency of 1k miles has been pretty good (~2.6 mi/kw) but we are getting colder temps in Michigan so I’m curious to see how it holds up.

I had been eyeing this forum (and the subreddit) for a while now wanting to get a Lightning and almost gave up until a really good lease deal popped up near me. Waited a couple months for production but it’s totally worth it, love this vehicle so much that I’m already thinking about what will happen in 23 months when my lease ends lol.

Hoping to get some nice scenic shots like some of yall here but until then here’s a picture of Ford’s main office that’s near me in Michigan.

This is my second Lightning and I WILL keep it until my demise and I hope to be late for that appointment . Bought a new one in 02 but got scared of gas prices and trucks were no longer desirable. Personal : I'm 78 years young, an grew up upstate NY and then NYC...joined USMC in 66 got shot up in 67( RVN) back to the States and later became a Police Officer on Long Island...retired to FLA. I'm a single digit dinosaur so be understanding...Bought this truck about 12 years ago from original owner....drove it only around 10-12 K miles. Shes my garage beauty all original, but I realize even though she runs fast and hard, I must keep her up with some new parts. ( Front brakes , fluid and lines, power steering fluid new/EGR valve new/All fluids changed oil( often),rear end, Supercharger/ DPFE sensor and I'm sure I forget some, but there was no issues at all, just wanted to keep up. Now I have an issue and would like some sagely advice, Ford SUX, when they answer the phone , they know nothing about the PCV valve and said mine is out of stock as did two auto supply places and it would be $110 without labor. I have replaced many of them in my life one/two three and its done for 7-8 dollars tops! Can I replace just the valve without the accompanying wires they tell me comes with it. Only someone smart with a Lightning who has done it might advise me. I'm not worried so my phone number is 561-***-**** Email redacted ( asp comes from a snake and I had a two seater Cobra). OK sorry this is so looooong.....and thanks for your interest George/ Rogue scholar

Drove home our new 2025 Flash 133 kwh last night for $20K off MSRP from Hillsboro on 3 year, 45K lease. PPO, TTP, MPC, and dealer tint which I will replace since it doesn't block enough heat or light.

Averaged 2.9 mi/kwh hour on my commute this morning - 30% hills but less than 60 mph most of the way.

This forum played a major role in my purchase and configuration decision. Thanks to the community!

Love this ride!
