IOS 26 RC improved PaaK considerably (for me)

I don’t want to jinx it. I have been using iOS 26 RC build for a week now and my PaaK performance is now flawless. No more having to fumble for the phone to reopen the app I had open 10 mins ago, just to get the truck to recognize it. Also the lights come on constantly when approaching. May be a coincident, or may be real.

Interested to hear how others have faired especially since it is now GA.

Been using the RC for a while now and the GA vision that was released today. Still sits there next to my truck with Ford Pass open and truck does nothing for about 30 seconds sometimes. I just end up having to hit the unlock button maybe 50% of the time.

RC is release candidate. This was supposed to be the final iOS26 build but there was an update released when it GA'd yesterday. Same experience in the GA version, RC's and the previous public betas (as well as iOS 18). It is still very usable though - I have not used my physical key since I bought the truck a few months ago.

No worries. This is the Release Candidate. Apple usually releases this a week before releasing the GA General Availability version. It represents what is likely to be released to the general public. I choose not to mess with the beta’s but when the major iOS version goes RC I install it.

Now I wonder if it is affected by a lot of EMI. At my house there and in my area there is lots of EMI from multiple sources all throughout town. Where I am at now in the farm country of South East Texas there is next to none. My PaaK is flawless here. I will need to test more in my home location.

Mine has worked flawlessly since I started using it with IOS 18. The few hiccups I've had was only when I had several people (and their phones) in the truck. Then I got couple of "key not found" errors, but they only stayed for 10-15 seconds.

Thanks for the quick response! I’ve also been using PAAK for a good little while (like 1.5month) with no issues. But eager to see what, if any effect iOS 26 has on any of these functions. In preparation for any issues, I actually took my physical fob today, since I knew I would be installing iOS update before getting back to my 2023 Ladiat today.

Once you are connected with the new carplay, go into settings and turn on Smart Zoom. it makes MUCH better use of our large screens.
