I just found this out yesterday as well, the zoom actually makes things smaller but higher resolution...nice.

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing the carplay icon as of late. So for example, when going into vehicle/sound settings...the last few times, there was a carplay shortcut on the most right of the left top corner. Not seeing it right now.

I thought I saw it after iOS 26 beta was installed, but maybe it hasnt been there since.

If you mean the map button (which is a white arrow on a blue background):

then yes I agree it will give you the full-screen map. However what we are talking about is if you are in multi-view, the map is currently just the top half of the screen. But it looks like it will be more like 2/3rds of the screen on the new iOS plus the bottom dock gets a little smaller. See link from @watts/up's post above (here). Here are the pics from that link:

I am curious, if you turn off the "Show Album Art in Now Playing", does it show even more of the map? I could definitely do without album art if I kept other controls and other updates on the main screen.

I agree that would be better - but I can't answer. I just copied these from the link in post 2. I'm still on the non-beta 18.5.

I'm still curious if this new beta introduced 4 apps in the dock bar; I have always had 3. And I second those who wish 1) the dock had the last used apps and 2) we could change which apps are on the bottom two tiles.

Instead we get rounded corners instead of square .

I’m not sure I like the exaggerated rounded corners. I think the theme should try and match a vehicle a little more. Either that or we need a massive standard for all inputs

I also only have 3 icons. I'm on iOS 18 though.

I use AA for maps, and I have not paid special attention, but I'm all but certain that this works in AA. Will look tomorrow to be sure

Confirmed pinch to zoom works in my XLT.in AA.l

Unfortunately it didn’t seem to do anything. It is beta, so maybe it will be fixed or maybe I need to restart some services. I’ll try and mess with it more this weekend

Ah okay, thanks for checking. I think there is an actual "Now Playing" button on the apps screen, maybe it really only works there.
