Issues on day 1

Bought my Lightning from an out of state dealer. Got delivered by transporter this morning. LOVE it! Came from a Model X and the build quality is superior to the Tesla. Put about 40 miles on it today and came home. Tried to run the update and it won’t take. Took the wife and kids out for a drive and it has service engine soon pop up. Ford Pass says power train malfunction/reduced power.

Could be the 12 volt. Check that it's tight. If so, Google your nearest Ford stealership.

I agree. The Achilles Heel of most EVs is the 12 volt battery that runs the computer.

TFLTrucks had a similar problem with their Hummer within a day or two of delivery that left them stranded until they learned how to open the hood without using the power so they could unhook the battery and let the system reboot.

I find it so humorous they put all this new tech in the truck and couldn't be bothered to change the icon? ?

IT will come back, reach out to the Ford rep here and tell them whats going on. They can look at the error codes on their end and let you know what your best option would be
