Contacted Ford yesterday about my missing reward points for my purchase of my truck back in November 2022. Questioned why I only got 22,000 points. Based off their own page looks like anyone buying the EV new should be eligible for 64,000 points. 42,000 for a new vehicle purchase, and additional 22,000 for signing up an EV to their charge network. I cannot be the only one who thought they were eligible for more than the 22,000 points.

First person that ever posted this that I recall.

You also got 250kWh of free charging.

That's what they said, and said that is why you only get the 22,000. But I argue that is not what the page states on how to earn points for vehicle purchase. New vehicle does not specifically say gas only or ev excluded, only exception states diesels get 75,000 points.

Ford Blue Advantage vehicles are certified used vehicles. The charging network, such as it is, is the Blue Oval Charging Network.

That's not what I am point out, that was just unfortunate highlight as I was reading. New vehicle gets 42,000 points except diesel which get 75,000 if you complete steps 1, 2 and 3. Which anyone with a lightning can do. Then continues to say if you have an ev battery vehicle if you sign up with charge network you get 22,000 points

This must be different in Canada. I was told we would get 40,000 for the new vehicle purchase and we did. It actually showed up within about two weeks.

I have a bit of an issue with a flat number of points regardless of value of the vehicle, but that's the system and I knew it up front.

There's nothing to indicate additional points for signing up to the Blue Oval Charging Network, nor is there any details about a charging credit. Perhaps this is only revealed once you sign up - if anyone in Canada can shed some light, it would be appreciated.

Another issue with their points is that you only get points for service invoices that have parts AND labour. That may seem like a "well ya, duh" statement, but I recently had another vehicle in for an A/C diagnosis. A recharge with dye was done, and it wasn't cheap. No points because there were no parts.

I had a weird situation last year when our dealership was in the middle of moving and I had to order a part through another dealer and have the work done by a third dealer. Separate invoices for parts and labour means no points.

The weird situation is lost, but at least I paid about $50 less for the part using the dealership I did for its purchase, which I like to think was a greater value than what the points would have been worth.

The A/C work is being done this week. I'll ask the dealership if they can tack on the diagnostic cost to the invoice and show it was paid already (just like the $1000 deposit for the parts paid last week). They might not be able to do that, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

It's a reading comprehension issue on your part. Yes, they could have put in the word "gas". They didn't, probably because the page was written before EVs got points or something.

But it's irrelevant, because pages can have errors and that doesn't change anything.

Here's another page that states it clearer for you.

The rep directed me to the that page when on the phone with them. I guess I am just the dummy, because I typically start at the FAQs when looking for answer to my questions. I just stating that the wording on the FAQ page is a little misleading
