Meant to type CSP, Fords Customer Satisfaction Program, (type of recall that they deam less than total recall)

A lemon law attorney explained to me their basic process and it works something like this: TSB Tech service bulletin < CSP < Recall. When I needed to lemon my first Lightning.

2024 Platinum owner here. I've had water leaking through the moonroof causing musty smell. Also had the recall/TSB work done on the moonroof, however, it seems to be getting worse.

Took it to a drive thru car wash today just to get a decent handle of how much water was being let in, and it seemed like a lot. Is this normal water drainage/leakage?

I stopped liking moonroofs, sunroofs, T-tops decades ago because most of them eventually leak. What do you expect when you cut a hole in your perfectly covered/sealed roof and then try to seal it back up with rubber gaskets that get mechanically stressed. I'll never select the hole-in-the-roof option again. The only thing worse is a convertible.

However, everyone should have the option of selecting a moonroof if that's what you like. Just realize, you have a hole in your roof that will eventually leak water or create air noises as you drive.

On another note, I had a friend who ruined her vehicle because she left her sunroof open one evening and it rained that night. Her vehicle ended up smelling like a moldy basement. She traded it end on something else soon afterwards.

Not to state the obvious, but if you have the ability to garage the vehicle whenever it is parked, you are much less likely to encounter these problems. As many people indicated above, a majority of these can be attributed to clogged Plenum drains. That typically happens when the vehicle is left outside in the open environment. This of course will not prevent stress related or rubber, deterioration related leakages.

Actually have this from my Tesla Model X days. Brings back memories. lol
That's a lot of water! At least it seems to be draining...for the time being...just wait until something clogs the drain tubes though!

Takes me back to a 1968 Peugeot 404 I bought at an auction for $80 bucks in 1984, with a 'rain roof' as I later called it.

The rubber tubes always got clogged with pollen and other debris from the top, from the bottom it was insects crawling up and making cocoons. It wasn't until I got drenched one day on the way to work when I stopped suddenly that I realized I had a problem.

Nothing really worked to keep the drain tubes open - bleach, vinegar, long piece if wire to ream it out like RotoRooter, no use.

Ultimately I got some metal tape and taped over the edges of the opening. Problem solve.
