Ya know, I was wondering why bother with MagicDocks if we are all getting Adapters  ....
Maybe this has been addressed and I missed it or its obvious and I am slow, but I think we are going to see more of these for the MONEY.

With Texas officially requiring NACS on chargers to get the subsidies, maybe we will see more MagicDocks if they can get part of these funds.
Whether new stations or as a retrofit, I am hopeful for more here as we have may areas in Texas that are still tough a Lightning over a long distance, especially in a SR truck.

The $7.5B in federal funds includes the agreement between Tesla and the government to open up at least 3,500 Superchargers. Those will use Magic Dock.

What I foresee is that the faulty CCS stations that I try to use will now also have a NACS connection that doesn't work, either. Tesla stations are already NACS so they don't need to change. Now if Texas required CCS, that would get us the Magic Docks.

I would suggest that you read the Texas plan for the funds. https://www.txdot.gov/projects/proj...texas-electric-vehicle-planning-03-22-22.html

You should see that to receive the funds (which are federal funds allocated to Texas), there is a requirement that you don't have to use one company's app. In other words, Tesla's current way of business can't be a requirement.

It now also, per what you noted, requires both CCS and NACS.

And, most importantly, there is a requirement for very high uptime.

Tesla stations are NACS, but that is the plug. Only their Version 3 superchargers also speak CCS as a communication language, so they are the only ones we will be able to use with our trucks.

I was hoping this would incentivize more V3 superchargers with MagicDocks and also fund adding MagicDocks to to current superchargers.

The Federal funding REQUIRES CCS plugs and Texas is saying you have to have NACS plugs as well to get the money. It is federal funds but the states are the ones that get to pass it out. So that is why I hope Tesla gets to work adding stations with the Docks.

I hear you regarding other stations. I just Deleted my EA account after my last frustrating fiaso. I have had great charging on their new equipment but the old stuff they still have just SUCKS.
