I have no idea what's going on or what are the issue lies and anytime I bring this up to a group like on Reddit or Facebook. I typically just get people not recommending doing level 1 charging and I just get a lecture on how bad level 1 charging is. I know level one charging is slow but in my small town it has worked out perfectly fine for me for over 2 years. So I really don't need any recommendations to go to level 2 charging. I just need to figure out why my truck is behaving the way it is.

I have a 2023 XLT standard range with almost 25,000, mi. I charge level 1 and I typically pull 1.2 KW pretty consistently. Actually the only time that it pulls a little less than that, but only slightly less is in the middle of winter.

Last couple of days it has been showing energy added through the charger but the energy added does not change the state of charge in the vehicle.

Here's an example for today. I started at 46% state of charge and after about 5 hours it said it added five kwh of energy which is totally normal for that amount of time. But the app and the vehicle both showed the state of charge only jumped up to 47%. I got in the vehicle and almost immediately after I left the driveway it dropped down to 46%. . So it's like all that energy that my app said would have added didn't really get added to the vehicle. I have no idea where it went.

I would hook up an OBD connector and use CarScanner or similar to see what’s going on.

Your evse might have a bad connection or be failing. Check your outlet too.

As others have recommended. If you want a technical answer, you need technical tools. CarScanner and watch multiple parameters to see what is going on. If your EVSE Is accurate then your energy could be going mostly to the DCDC converter trying to keep up a bad 12 volt battery. Or some weird thermal waste.

Um, is the charger just keeping the Lightning system/battery "Chargeable" without having enough juice to "charge"

Maybe I'm in the clear now, not sure what happened. Been on the charger for 11 hrs. It says 13.4 kWh added and soc has gone from 44% to now show 56%
