New US only Vehicle Tracking Tool uses GPS. Replacing VVR as of 10/25.

The Mach E forum has a thread about a tool, VinView, Ford has recently launched to sunset VVR for tracking new vehicles in the US. Uses GPS. Anyone heard of VinView or tried to get their dealer to utilize?

Ok. I’ll put up a couple screenshots of what the Mach E crew thinks about the new tool. Supposedly you can even get text updates on your truck like UPS, FedEx, Amazon once the dealer signs you up. Salute it or shoot it down.

No. But my salesperson is constantly sending updates to the wife. It's her car and she's really excited about it.

I have requested access to the tool from the vendor.
Do you know if dealers are charged for access? I’m trying to get my dealership on board. Ford should provide this to dealers. I’d bet Ford my un-delivered Mach E the call and chats no longer going to Ford agents would more than pay for access.

Your dealership is going to have to use this tool sooner or later. The current tracking software, Vehicle Visibility, is being decommissioned on February 1st 2023.

I doubt you're granted access. It's for dealerships only.

I just spoke to the dealer GM. He said their “Ford rep” now handles over 125 dealerships and he can only leave them voice messages or send emails. Does anyone here know how the dealerships get access to VinView? GM says all he sees is a grayed out VinView screen with no place to request or ask to have access granted.

Just, wish dealer I bought from would use VinView. Lightning showed up and they were surprised. My Mach E has been in Kansas since 9/27 after being 1 mile from the dealer when going thru texas from Mexico factory to Kansas City graveyard. I told the dealer last week I’m not ordering another vehicle to them because they will not sign on for VinView. Yes, uses cars GPS.

They will have no choice after January 31st 2023. Vehicle Visibility will be discontinued and VinView will be their only option.
