I received the DTE update last night, and this morning all forms of cruise control did not work. It's almost like the cruise button on the wheel stopped working.

Other buttons on the wheel work just fine. No error messages. Truck off/back on no help, and toggling the cruise control settings made no change.

Any thoughts before I call the dealer?

Wait 24 hours. These things have a way of sorting themselves out in most cases.

Is cruise control still not working after letting the truck fully power down?

It came back to life after letting the truck sit for six hours.

Very very odd.

Actually not so odd.

Get used to updates causing fluky things for hours / day / even days. Things have to "finish" and "settle out".

I got an update on the Mach-E that didn't settle out until I rebooted Sync.

We should not have to "get used to" poor programming. This is bullshit that the software industry has forced on us. Would you "get used to" a delaminated running board? Water in the lights? A leaky sunroof? No starts? C'mon.

Then you should consider selling... Saying it isn't so when it is makes no sense.

Just telling you what I have experienced in 18 months of ownership. It is reality that updates often break something, usually temporarily, many times until the next time you drive.

Wow... Found the software guy who doesn't feel like Q-C is part of his job.

In this case, if a reset was needed, why wasn't it programmed in?

We're not talking about some $10/mo SaaS here that could be running on user hardware running Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Brave. We're talking about a 7,500lb motor vehicle, where the hardware and software are made by the same vendor.

I've found that saying the same thing over and over to someone that doesn't want to hear it is simply a waste of time. Reality is what reality is. Don't want to accept it? Fine. But it's still reality.

Have a good day.
