I received a credible email this morning from my dealer about my F-150 Lightning reservation (I also have a Mach-E order with them, hence the email title). I guess the report for January was true. I had to check, and the reservation link is gone.

This also confirms for the 2022 F-150 Lightning:

• Order banks open in January 2022
• Production begins Spring 2022
• Not all reservation holders will receive an invitation to place an order for 2022MY

No one knows for sure, but there was a rumor that they'd be opening ordering in waves, rather than let a zillion people order all at once even though they won't be getting their trucks for years.

EDIT: Looks like the email OP added specifically says that only some reservation holders will be able to order at the start for Model Year 2022. It will be interesting to see how many get invited!

If they're doing it in waves, my guess is only reservation holders will be able to order in the first one, then they might open it up for the following waves.

This is above my pay grade. I wish I knew. I'd like to put my order in as well.

I do keep hearing that we are on track for Job1 in April. That's about all I can contribute right now.

Well at least we know there is some movement. Anyone with a Mach-E, can you chime in if this also happened with that reservation?

Edit: Ford will probably deliver a handful of Lightnings to the press and Social Media Stars in Spring to meet their deadline.

I sent the email to the administrator. It should be up shortly, but I believe all dealers may have received this email. Mine was just nice enough to inform me

I would doubt it given what we know about production levels and number of reservations. If they are doing it in waves, maybe a few non-reservation holders will be able to order next fall for a 2023, but I think a order in fall of 2023 for a 2024 model year is more likely. Most reservation holders are going to be waiting awhile as well. Probably just day 1 reservations (give or take) will get in on round 1. That said all of this is a complete guess and we will have to wait and see.

I do hope the build and price tool opens up to everyone so we can at least play around - even if we have to wait to order.

My Ford F150 XLT, regular cab FX4 was built on Dec 5th according the the Ford site estimated delivery date 1/1/22. I cant retrieve any information on this site now. Is the tracking system on this site still jacked up or is it normal for it to drop off of this site after being built?

At least to me, the Build and Price is more important than order banks opening up. It would be nice to see all options and configurations prior to.
