I won't be able to drive my truck for 6 to 8 weeks. I plan on charging to about 50% SOC, but should I be concerned with the 12v battery? Should I put a 1 or 2 amp battery maintainer on it to be safe?
Thanks

I think the consensus will be to remove the battery, or use your battery maintainer.

Personally,I would leave the 12v on a 1amp trickle charger. But then my truck is always in the garage and not sitting outside in the weather. Unsure of your situation.

I've left my Mach E for 6 months, without driving. For three months the 12v battery was on a charger and for three months I didn't have the 12v on a charger. It started fine after 6 months. The big battery was ay 50% and not plugged in. The big battery only lost about 2%.

You can't go wrong with Maxx's recommendations from Ford - especially if it is deep cold. If you leave it alone as is, the 12V battery will be charged from the HVB and the truck will go into deep sleep (no access from FordPass). It will last months this way with the truck topping up the 12v battery when needed with only a small impact to HVB (deep cold may be different - See Maxx's excerpt from Ford.)

I'd likely put the 12V battery maintainer on it and not worry about disconnecting the 12V battery. This means the truck will work with the key fob, and you won't have to figure out how to jumpstart your frunk to reconnect the battery when you return. Your HVB SOC should stay right where you left it if you do this.
