DTE Smart Charge (make money for no effort)

This is a program that pays you $50 now, and $50 later, for not charging during Do Not Charge events, and charging during times of excess energy.

Ford works with DTE to change the charge settings in the vehicle to not charge, or to begin charging. You can override this is you need to, as long as you don't exceed the override limitations. Terms and Conditions

I participated in the pilot for this with my 2018 Ford Fusion, and joined with my now sold 2021 Mach-E and have my 2022 Mach-E enrolled.

For those that question DTE having access to your data, keep in mind if you used DTE's $500 charger rebate, you already granted that access.

Even if you override every notice, you make $50.

You'll know the application is processing when minutes later your preferred charging hours will be updated, they simply add DTE in front of the location name, i.e. DTE - Home.

DTE's approach is that they work with Ford, and Ford resets the hours. I don't provide anyone access to anything.

OK, I thought maybe DTE had locations similar to consumers, but that makes sense too I suppose.

I have charged at home but I'm unable to save the location because my GPS is all screwed up.
Earlier today it thought I was in Canada, some 400 miles north and right now it says the truck is 5miles away from its actual location so it's hit and mostly miss at the moment.

Try and reboot of Sync. Hold volume down and right seek buttons for 10 seconds.

DTE program takes over the home location, renaming it DTE - Home. Then, in a do not charge event, they go through Ford to prevent the car from charging at that location. That's why they need the location saved when you apply.
