Well I just came back from Hilltop ford, they were supposed to repair the condensation problem in my rear light bar. They did this before under a warranty recall. This time they told me I could pay $1334.06 to have it replaced. As a knowledgeable contractor who knows how to release water, I drilled four holes along the bottom edge of the light bar and magically a quarter cup of water poured out. Problem solved for now. How long will it take for the engineers at ford to figure out the solution. This is caused by poor design and ford should own up to the problem and fix it once and for all. This may be my last of 6 F150s.

Feel your pain. I’ve had 5 replacements and I live in AZ not exactly a wet location.

I am on my 3rd light bar and just saw that it has condensation again. Live in So. Cal.

When will @Ford Motor Company fix the issue once and for all? Since this was a safety recall, then Ford should guarantee replacements even for vehicles out of warranty.

So. Cal as well, noticed my 2nd light bar had the white reverse lights flickering. Looking closer, I see moisture in many spots.

I'm assuming it would be covered on the extended warranty with the Interior/Exterior Lighting coverage?

My replacement light bar has moisture in it. I noticed the white reverse lights were not working when I backed into my driveway. I will file a NHTSA Complaint since this is a safety issue, and encourage others to do the same. @Ford Motor Company needs to fully own this beyond the basic warranty.

We are seeing a lot of this issue not being resolved and here is what seems to be some of the excuses.
-The initial replacement parts might’ve been from the same flawed batch. Ford was scrambling for a redesign.
-The design itself might still be vulnerable. Owners are guessing tailgate slams or flexing in cold climates keep cracking even “fixed” units. Ford’s investigation pinned it on assembly stress, but if the material (polycarbonate, likely) or seal (gasket or adhesive) hasn’t toughened up, moisture keeps winning.
-The supply and service bottlenecks drag it out. Ford’s EV ramp-up, pushing 98,000 Lightnings built by mid-2024, might’ve strained quality control.
-Ford’s not blind...they’ve got no crashes tied to this yet, per NHTSA, so urgency might’ve slipped.
