Heya folks,
I've been enjoying my 2025 F-150 Lightning Flash for about a month now. There is a lot to like but, as everyone knows we tend to notice the bad stuff more than the good. There are a small handful of little things that have been making my daily drive less than stellar and I wanted to take a minute to do two things:
1st: I want to list off some of things that I am less than happy about.
2nd: I want to hear from other folks if the issues I discuss here are happening to them as well, or if I am either crazy or doing something wrong.
So here goes:
About 25% of the time, when I hop in the cab and start the truck, it defaults to the radio. This may sound normal except that I have not once ever chosen to listen to the radio. My phone is synced to my car via CarPlay and it is relatively quick to sync each time i get in (5-10 seconds or so after starting up). I have an iPod connected via 3.5mm AUX with all my music downloaded and about 75% of the time when I start the truck my music simply resumes where it left off and I have no trouble. But the other 25% of the time it just turns on the radio at whatever the default station is. It's a minor gripe, but it is annoying. Maybe I am strange but I haven't listened to public radio in 20 years - seems like an odd choice to default to ever.
Another gripe is that some of the settings persist and some do not. When I make changes to climate control like temp or fan speed, they remain at my setting until I change them. This is how it should work. But some settings constantly reset; When selecting ProPower,I can disable all ProPower in the cabin to improve range efficiency by a small amount. I expected that the setting would persist and that if/when I need ProPower in the cabin I can just turn it back on, but every time I start the Truck, it defaults to being on again, chipping away at efficiency.
The same is true for what feels like a random smattering of other settings from connectivity; I disabled the WiFi hotspot and that remains disabled, but after I disabled Connected Navigation (since I use CarPlay for that) it defaults to being on each time the truck starts.
I am also unsure why the energy section of the Ford App is so anemic. I would love for it to display some information about my battery health, temp, etc. rather than needing an ODB tool.
Sorry for the long post, please let me know if anyone else is experiencing these same frustrations.
