I just had to try it 😁

2x 12v 300ah batteries and a 6000w 240v inverter. It added 4.5% range (the home assistant integration / ford API gives percentage in 0.5% increments.)

This is not something I plan on doing often, but it's nice that I can if I want to drain the batteries quickly or to feel more confident while stretching between distant charge stops.

Nice Job, but make sure ford does not get your information because they are looking for every reason to deny warranty repairs these days.

The OP appears to be using an inverter - see the 237v/5kW output - I assume paired with his destination 240v charger adapter that came with the truck.
No issue for warranty I can see, especially at 5kW energy transfer rate...ie very low.

I have thought about doing some testing like this, I have 10 x 15kWh batteries I use in my stationary solar energy system, and three of these would fit nicely across the front of the bed. But the reality is the extra 45kWh, which could be nice addition to my SR pack on some trips, connected via an inverter to the destination charger would take 6-hours to transfer that energy to the truck.
Maybe good for a camping trip, but not so much for travelling.

I agree with Lance - a bed mounted charger plug that can use "any" energy source while driving would be a very cool option. I hope the OP and others post more testing and results for us to share.

I carry a 5kWh power station that we bring camping and on road trips. Coupled with a few solar panels, I can add 10-20% (30-60) miles of range over a long weekend camping trip.

If I bring my extra loose batteries, I can have up to 13 kWh and with a couple more panels, I can easily get a good 50% or more recharge while out camping.

It’s not charging while driving, but it’s still quite an enabling option for longer and farther camping trips.
