hi, I purchased a set of 18" Factory take off wheels used. I was thinking the TPMS sensors would work once I reset it via to procedure of letting air out. This did not work so with some digging around on here I see Ford changed the TPMS frequency from 315 to 433. I am assuming the sensors I got with the wheels are 433 as they were taken from a 2025. My question is if there is any way of getting my 2023 lightning to read theses sensors perhaps with a TPMS tool or something or do I just have to buy a new set of sensors and install them the next time I change the tires out? I was hoping to get rid of the tire light on my winter tires but so far no dice. I read somewhere that you could see your TPMS frequency on the back of your fob but I couldn't find anything.

All I have ever done with new TPMS (OEM TPMS) on my subsequent three Ford vehicles is just to drive the car once the new TPMS is mounted on a rotating wheel. The Ford OEM TPMS modules begin to self-sync with the Ford within a mile or so.

This included me putting new TPMS units on used Ford spare wheels with their Winter tires, back this past December.

You are correct that Ford changed the frequency on those, I think it's a new radio in one of the control modules because the fob frequency also changed. The radio in the truck will only read the one frequency, so unfortunately your only option would be to purchase ones that are compatible with the 2023. Unless maybe you can find somebody in the opposition position as yours who has ones that work with the 2023 and needs ones for the later model 2024/2025 and is willing to swap. The protocol is pretty well documented and you can use a project like https://github.com/merbanan/rtl_433 and a cheap USB dongle to read them, but that's not going to get the information into your truck.

I was afraid of this and I think you are right. I will buy new sensors when my tires rap out. They are old now but still have good tread and are performing well.
