If anyone is planning on getting a truck cap on their lightning, I'd love to see a range comparison before and after. Wondering if a more aero option like the aero x makes more sense for EV trucks.

Already been discussed.

The fastback you see there is roughly the most aerodynamic improvement you can. Make to a truck aside from making it smaller.

Could get up to 10% improvement. But it really needs to be tested in the real world to confirm.

A truck cap that is even with the top of the cab likely won't impact range much.

range test video idea for outofspec?

Open box tailgate closed vs open box tailgate open vs tonneau cover vs traditional cap vs fast back style cap? I’d watch that video. 🙋‍♂️

That cap is actually designed to INCREASE your range.

The thing I like about a shell is that it increases your security for stuff you leave in the back. On the other hand it is harder to load/carry big items. Im personally hoping the frunk provides a place put the stuff that needs increased security. That little fastback looking shell - I see as the worst of possible solutions. Although, as others say, perhaps helps with wind resistance.

I wouldn’t mind the fastback design if it had a retractable tonneau like the cybertruck. Allows you to carry tall items which you can’t do with a traditional cap and adds a bit more room than a flat tonneau.

I've seen one of those on a truck in person. I don't care if it doubles the range. It's not worth it.
I mean, if an electric-pink 6-foot tall bed-installed wing spoiler doubled the range, I would install it....

There's a joke that revolves around mopeds that comes to mind. They may be fun to ride, but you don't want to be seen on one. It's the same thing with that fastback cap. They are ugly as sin in person.
