I made an appointment with a local ford dealer for the recall. When I got there they said I had to leave truck, I was under the impression that I had an appointment at 9am. I told them I had no ride so I canceled the appointment. When I got home I called another dealership near me ( 3 dealership within 15 miles) Jarrett Ford service said they would send out mobile mechanic. He's here know and doing ball joint and said he's updating the software.

Nice! I just got this done yesterday. They also installed a ton of updates on my truck.

I called and had one dealer say leave it, called another they said possible mobile service and transferred me. But mobile service better to bring it in because it’s easier on a lift and would be done in 1-2 hours while waiting. Looks like calling around is worth the time and effort.

You did, to drop the truck off and in a perfect world they'd be ready for it but schedules have to be flexible. I'm sure they could have shuttled you.

“appointments” at service are the biggest scam. All it does is get you a service writer, which you could just walk in and talk to someone usually.
