I thought FCSP to truck comms used Bluetooth?
Idk. The app requires a WiFi signal be broadcasted from the FCSP to connect.

The app does….but you said you were trying to get it to connect to the truck.

IIRC, you have to confirm the BT pairing code for the truck on your SYNC screen, and the same code for your FCSP via the Ford app (a.k.a. FordPass), which must be connected to the FCSP via Wi-Fi. That's why if you need or want to BT-repair the FCSP with your truck and have lost the FCSP Wi-Fi connection, you're SOL.

Thanks for tying it all together.

Well, hopefully, I'll have more data come Wednesday. I have a spare unit (which is what's on the wall) because the original unit I had put out there stopped working altogether and Ford wouldn't replace it, so go figure..

Same thing happened to me. Since the Ford Charge Station Pro was replaced, I have been able to reliably use my Home Integration System, albeit usually manually.
Once I take my house off the grid, the HIS starts up automatically about 1/3 of the time. If it doesn’t start up within about 1 minute, then I unplug and replug the charger cord to the truck once or twice, and the HIS kicks in and powers the house.
When I unplug, I wait about 30 seconds until all noises and lights stop. Then I’ll leave it plugged for a little over a minute. If the HIS doesn’t start up, I unplug and replug again, and it has been working every time for the past year, almost on a daily basis.
I charge at night when rates are cheaper (I’m on a Time-of-Day plan) and discharge during the day and prime time when I’m home. Electric cost savings is about $60/month, per Portland General Electric, versus if I was on a flat rate plan.

I had similar problems with my original charge station Pro. Let me try to remember what happened exactly, there is some hardware bug that causes the modem to essentially die at some point with a lot of these units. If you find that Wi-Fi doesn't work, the Bluetooth module will not work either and as a result, the home integration system cannot transfer. The solution to this from Ford's tech support will be to reset the charge station Pro. First they will guide you through the soft reset process, but if that fails, which it will because there is no connectivity, they'll tell you to open up the unit and press and hold thie little red reset button, if you hold it for for 30 seconds, the unit is supposed to reboot and reset. My original unit I could hold this button forever and nothing happened. I suspect the same hardware fault has happened to yours, if that's the case, unfortunately the only solution is a replacement unit.

I would recommend contacting Sunrun and seeing if they can send out a tech, show them that the system will not transfer to the home integration system and cannot be paired with the truck. Referencing the fact that the unit has no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity. I had to really push them to this conclusion that the charge station was the problem. Once I did though they contacted ford and arranged a replacement unit mailed out, as it was defective, under warranty.

If you're unsure that this is the issue I would recommend performing a cold reboot of the whole system upon powering on, the Ford charge station should broadcast its internal Wi-Fi or connect to your Wi-Fi. If it does neither this is likely the issue.

Also, if you have opened the unit and pressed the reset button for an extended period and no reset occurred then I would say that the hardware is defective as that is not how the button is supposed to operate.

Hopefully this helps...

Older versions of BlueTooth could be pretty sheety.
The Lightning can use 5.3 I think?
It is apparently not the newest (6.0 in 2024?).

What is the version of BlueTooth in the FCSP I wonder...haven't seen an answer. But if it's at least 5 which is not the latest that would be better than 4.0 or 4.2 which has a short range and uses less energy (BLE = Bluetooth Low Energy).

The wifi is either 2.4G (best for distance and wall penetration) and 5.0G (faster but not good at penetrating walls etc, and has a shorter range.

But even the 2.4G can be spotty sometimes, usually I have no issues, but now and then it seems as if it is asleep.
