Urgent: FordPass Activation & Maps for US-Imported Lightning in Oman

Hello,
I need help with my US-imported 2023 Lightning Lariat (via Copart) in Oman (7k miles). Facing critical issues:

1. FordPass & Cellular Failure:
- "Unable to Authorize" error persists after factory resets.
- Modem doesn’t connect to Omani networks (locked to AT&T).
- Zero OTA updates via Wi-Fi.
- Ford Oman refuses support ("US imports not serviced").

2. No Middle East Maps
- Only NA maps display; ME region option grayed out in SYNC 4.

Solutions I Seek:
1. FordPass Workaround:
- Success stories with modem replacement (GCC-spec)?
- Can FDRS programming force authorization?
- Any Wi-Fi-only fixes?

2. ME Maps Install:
- USB sideload possible?
- VIN region reprogramming?

I can't help with your network problem. In my opinion Google Maps via Android Auto is superior to Ford Navigation.

The guys who use FDRS should be able to let you know what that software is capable of. I think you would at least be able to update modules with it.

I agree with you about maps. But fordpass is the most important for me . Thank you for your response.

Don't know if this might help, but check with European dealerships in EU such as Netherlands to see if they use the Voda Phone or similar EU carrier instead of America's AT&T network with their imported trucks. This might be a bridge. As for the wi fi are you using a VPN that has an American IP? Just spitballing here.
