USB Audio while CarPlay connected?

I couldn’t figure out how to play USB audio while wireless car play was connected. The “Media” app would only show Bluetooth.
Scenario is that I want my CarPlay connected while my son plays his music via USB.

Anyone know how to enable this?

Coming from a Ram where this was easy as plugging in the USB.

Basically when you plug in the USB drive you should see an icon appear on your home screen (under Apps not Entertainment) with the name of the USB drive. You'll see the red USB icon. Its not under Media.

Exactly how I do it, only using android auto instead of carplay.
