Anyone know if there is a way to use the truck’s built in cameras as a dash cam? There is a third party app called DashCam that says I need the device in the picture.

There is no way to do it.

......aaaaaand que the 100 posts how it's easy and technically possible since the truck has all the cameras, just look at Rivian, Tesla and all the others. FORD engineers are idiots, bla bla bla

We've been over this like a 100 times already, and unfortunately, the answer is still No!

Nope. Been asked dozens of times. FYI, some other dead horse topics here.

Looks like a Ford Branded dashcam. Yes the Lightning camera recording/security is just another missed oportunity on Ford's part. I just looked up that device it's a 1080p camera using a Sony Sensor. Pretty much.... 2011 technology. 4k dashcam technology has been here since 2018 and 8k is here now.

Not a hater.... I Love my Ford, but there are several things I would gladly have paid more money for.

Dashcam Security.
Tuned Suspension, perhaps electric height adjustment.
Turn signal cameras (This one should be EASY, the truck does this when connected to a trailer).

Thanks, I took a look around for this issue since it seems an obvious question. I’ll check out the link hopefully it will answer other questions.

Maybe Brian @Ford Motor Company wants to put this (access dashcam) on his list. Turn signal cameras would be great! I have stopped, pressed Camera, and look for the wide angle front cam. especially one road that comes up to an intersection, if you don’t quickly scan around before you get to the stop line you can’t see a car across the intersection. The hood is completely in the way.
