Window Switch/Toggle Broke in half.......

Welp. I went to roll my window back up today and (no unusual pressure) and the button snapped in half (I believe it's just the cover piece and the little silver tip). I'm thinking the heat (it's a hot day) might have something to do with it? Anyone know if this is an easy fix or have any tips on fixing it? Thanks so much!

if you are still within the 3 yr 36k miles warrantee period the dealer should replace it for free. My local dealer mobile service does these types of repairs at my home.

I called dealer and asked if they could do mobile service.

Call your dealer and email a picture of the broken switch. See if they will do mobile service.

My dealer came out and diagnosed phone not recognized on driver side. They identified the antenna in the door handle had failed They ordered the handle and installed it in my driveway a week later after they had it painted.

I had a similar issue. The plastic hinge piece inside the driver’s window switch cracked, which made the button feel mushy. The chrome trim on one of the buttons also fell off, and I noticed the edges of the buttons were starting to lose their color. A couple of small plastic pieces fell out when I shooked the switch after removal. The chrome trim does easily pop back in, but its not longer securely fitted so its easily removable with some horizontal pull.

Same problem except more extreme happened on my rear passenger window switch.. One of the squared clip spots that held the top and bottom part of the housing cracked so the button turned to jelly and didn't actuate. I replaced that a couple months ago... My trucks falling apart!

The only thing I could attribute it to is the ~100F summers since I parked the truck outside for the past couple months.

I suggest ordering the 2025+ switches. I had a very similar issue this past spring. My dealer replaced my driver window switch module with the updated part#. Another plus (at least for me) is the removal of the chrome elements. At some point, I’ll black out all my chrome trim…

I wasn’t aware there was an updated part number with the chrome deleted? I’m only aware of ML3Z-14529-CD
