I was checking my reservation page as I do periodically. I noticed it says I have an XLT reservation.

So it occurred to me that if all XLTs are sold out, I may not get an order date this year.

I am ready and willing to place an order for a Lariat.

My question is: do I or can I change the order page to a Lariat in order to make sure I can order as soon as possible.

I wouldn't worry about it - that has popped up from time to time as they do website updates. It has never meant anything in the past.

Did you get the "Help us plan for your F-150 Lightning order" back at the beginning of September? How you respond(ed) to that survey may inform if/when you get an invitation to order. Otherwise, there's not currently a way to express your current model preference on the reservation page.

You should do a chat with Ford and ask for their help - sometimes they can be very helpful, and sometimes they just direct you to your dealership for placing your order. Either way, you should be able to upgrade your model to the Lariat. GL

I have seen several people mention this and i dont think the two can be linked. There's people who got the survey but no invite and plenty of people who didnt get the survey and did get invited. The survey was just market research, i think the XLT on the res page went that way several months for almost everybody.

Yep.

The survey doesn't seem linked to specific customer experiences in any way.

It truly was just general information for Ford.

It truly was just general information for Ford.
Maybe you're right. At the same time, the survey came out at such a time that it could have only impacted Wave 3. The reservations that were going to get called for that wave may have been determined already, and there may only be an effect on invites starting in the next waves where the lower trim levels are no longer available.
