It is perplexing to me why anyone would have to use the app to do something for the truck when there is a display and interface in the truck. What if someone lives or is staying in a cellular dead zone and there is no wifi nearby? The truck controls should be able to control what happens to the truck. This along with requiring charge locations to be setup for target level charging (why can't I tell the truck 80 or 90 percent is your target until I tell you otherwise?). In 10500 miles I have charged our Volvo to 100 percent twice and charged via DCFC exactly zero times. Usually the target is 80 percent, but I can change it in the car with one or two taps.@tommolog , Great video….I would love to see your added KWh curve for the ER battery!
Your experience with the “Onetime Charge” setting has me curious as I too have had issues with this working. For me, the issue was both at a DCfast charger (same issue as yours), and on my FCSP at home…there it defaulted back to the 90% I have saved for my home location despite attempts to set it to 100% via the Sync 4A Settings screen. I was forced to use my FordPass app override to charge to 100%.
I saw in you video that your understanding is the ”in-truck” setting is only to be used for DC fast charging, not at home on the FCSP or other Level 2 charging sessions…
The Owners Manual appears to state (imply) the ”in-truck” setting should be useable for any charge session…I haven’t had any success for either Level 2 or DC fast charging. Have you been able to get any clarification from @Ford Motor Company ? At this point, I won’t trust (use) this feature……
