Ford needs to let us buy the pro with extended range

I was talking to a dealership and they said it will be 2024 before they get any of them delivered to potential customers

TT builds are scheduled to start in the next couple of weeks. PP builds are scheduled for next January/February. Job1 is currently around April/May. They should get some before 2024.

Honestly, unless they have the information in writing, I wouldn't trust the dealership to have any information that's not already available online. Especially not a salesperson. The first salesperson that I spoke with at the Toyota dealership I bought my Prius from didn't even know it was a hybrid....? If they hadn't had the one I wanted at a huge discount I would have just went elsewhere.

I still think it's just a rumor about not being able to get the ER battery on the pro (general public). there has been no rock solid proof of this that I can find, just people on the internet making statements of such. Of course if it's on the net it must be true right? ?

Everything on Ford's website says it's available and does not stipulate JQ public or fleet only. Just says it's available.

If someone has a link from Ford that shows this is a definitive requisite for fleet to obtain. I'd like to see it.

I received these emails after extensive contact with Ford media about being able to purchase a Pro ER for retail. I was mislead into believing I could purchase the pro ER by the initial media coverage as well as communication with my dealer and Ford Facebook reps. I was eventually told the ER is not for retail purchase in an email from Ford customer support. I have since canceled my reservation for this reason. I've edited out identifying information for privacy.

Ford states that customer deliveries will start spring 2022 and the pro trim will be available from the start of production so I don't know what information this dealer is basing this statement on.

Perhaps because they are only projecting 15k units in 2022 and slowly ramping up to 80k doesn’t say much for availability now does it especially if everyone has to order one the backlog will be endless

At today's Lightning Tour in Phoenix, I asked one of the Ford reps about whether the Pro trim would eventually have the ER battery for consumers. He said it is likely, but not right now with limited supply of battery packs. He thinks it will be available eventually, just not now.

That's helpful however I also have to take it with a grain of salt because these folks are simply marketing representatives and they can give customer feedback to management teams, but in the end the people who are staffing the event have no say on future product offerings. Now if someone like Darren Palmer or Linda Zhang say it I'll be more certain that it will happen.

XLT starts at $53k and extended range XLT would be $63k, is that right?

I am seriously thinking to get the pro for $40k, and trade in for next generation in 3 years.

To spend $70k on brand new technology is a little risky. The features I would absolutely miss with a pro model are 360 camera and heated front seats.

On xlt the extended range battery isn't 10k option like on the pro its 7k on xlt, im torn on what to do as well part of me thinks I should just buy the pro model but than I'd really miss having the rang and power of the bigger battery and Co pilot 360

I am in the same boat. I really want the extended range, but that is an additional $20k for total price of $60k. It is hard to swallow a $20k price increase for more range. The 360 camera is available as an option on the Pro. Co-Pilot 360 2.0 is standard on the Pro. Honestly, it all depends on how rich I feel at the moment. I swing from a Pro clear to a Lariat Premium. I think the biggest issue is that the 2nd Gen will be out in 2025. I may want to upgrade then.

Of course all of the configurations and pricing is subject to change as we really won't know until later in October.

I’m probably just getting old—my kids remind me all the time with my music preferences—but I prefer using my mirrors and the occasional glance over my shoulder to park and drive my cars. My wife has a top trim Telluride with all of the driver assist paraphernalia and it absolutely drives me nuts—it course corrects for the slightest, inconsequential deviation (so I veer 2cm when I take a sip of my coffee taking the kids to school, sue me) beeps when I turn the signal on and a car is close (yes I see it, thank you) and the camera changes angles when you merge (really?). Don’t get me started with the steering wheel vibrator. Yes, you can disable it but I don’t even know how to do that. I’m automotively illiterate and generally helpless. I understand some people like the co-pilot, but my goodness that we need this much help driving doesn’t speak well for our evolution as a species.

I’ll take the Pro, regular battery and no options please. It seems like an incredible value at that pricepoint, and if it has some serious issues I’m not as far in the hole as I would be with a higher trim.

The Pro comes with Co-Pilot360 2.0, which is Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (Includes Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Dynamic Brake Support), BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System (Includes Lane- Keeping Alert, Lane-Keeping Aid and Driver Alert), Rear View Camera, Auto High Beam headlamps, Reverse Sensing System, Reverse Brake Assist and Post-Collision Braking.

Is there a description of what exactly entails a "fleet" order? I set up an account long ago but have never ordered any vehicles. It also looks like the fleet site might have its own ordering/waitlist so might not be a good idea for me to submit a new order via the fleet site. Will we need to order a minimum of trucks to qualify for the Pro w/ ER? My business only needs one...
