works great unless all my kids are battling for the song they want played and talking at the same time

I guess there’s no known workaround, from the sound of things. I was hoping someone had a Forscan fix for it!

The workaround is getting the carplay adapter

It's a walled garden Apple problem/restriction. Android Auto is wide open and not restricted. That's why I only use Android Auto and not Carplay. I never connect my Iphone to my cars--only the Samsung phone. Android Auto is just so much better when you can have both to compare. Plus Google's voice recognition and searching is leaps and bounds ahead of Siri--Siri is a joke in comparison. There are a few things that my Iphone does better, but in the grand scheme of things, the Android is way ahead in voice recognition and car synchronization in all of my cars--Chevy, BMW, and Ford. Plus Google's AI is so far ahead of "Apple Intelligence". I find myself using my Iphone less and less.

I get the sentiment people have, Android is very good, I liked my Android, but I love my iPhone. The only things I truly miss are programming for custom built USB devices (not MFi) you can workaround that problem by making the interface MIDI but it's pretty annoying and limited. The other is direct access to the network stack to make network tools and I've yet to find a workaround for that since all of the low level APIs have been deprecated. All in the name of security and stability...I understand it but it doesn't mean I have to like it.
