Remote Start Issues

Is anyone else having constant issues with their remote start? 2024 Flash here. It seemed to stop working when my Premium Connectivity ended - which didn't make sense because I haven't seen 'Remote Start' listed as a function in that add-on. But I have also proved that wrong because it will start at work, usually. But it NEVER works at home. Both in good cell range, right in the middle of the city - the only difference I can think of is that at home, both the truck and my phone would be connected to WiFi, whereas at work it's strictly cellular.

Have had the same issue with departure times although those finally worked last night so maybe that's on the mend. Any advice is welcome, it's been a couple of frosty, snowy mornings here and it sucks not having the snow melted off when i'm ready to leave for work (first world problems lol). Thanks all!

My departure times stopped working recently. It has made the wife less than happy now that the mornings are crisp in the midwest.

For those I just deleted them entirely and re-entered them and it SEEMS to be working, or at least it did yesterday before I left work. Haven't tested the morning one yet. I have both an iPhone for work and an Android for personal, and sometimes the Apple will show the departure times are off while the Android and truck both show them on. It's a cluster lol

Remote Start doesn't require Premium Connectivity on my '24 Lariat. It just doesn't work very well. Where I normally park I can always get SOC updates while it is charging and conduct lock/unlock, but turning on climate only works 1 out of 5 attempts. What's worse is it will tell me it activated, but it did not and I'll arrive to the parking garage to a stone cold truck.

Seems to be a common issue. I wish Ford had software as reliable as Tesla, then this would be the perfect truck

Remote start has nothing to do with Premium Connectivity. It requires a cellular connection for the vehicle, which you note should not be an issue.

Any chance you have an Apple phone vs. a Android phone?

Hi Rick! I actually have one of each, my Apple phone is my work phone and my Android is my 'daily driver'. When it fails on one I always try the other but unfortunately it ends up failing on both.

Yep, I bought a fob for an ICE truck and used the owners manual method to program it. Only caveat is you lose the frunk button.

How do you find the range on the keyfob Climate start? I've had mixed results with range on the current keyfob.

Try disconnecting your 12 volt battery negative cable to force a hard reset in all of your modules. It might help rectify your remote start issue.

I'm having this issue as well, stopped working when premium connectivity ended, I tried paying the 10 dollars to renew premium connectivity and my remote start started working again, canceled it, and now its not working again.

from everything I can find premium connectivity should not be required to remote start via the fordpass app but it certainly seems to all of a sudden?

Found the issue - the truck was going into deep sleep mode but wasn't telling me. I suspect because of a small draw from my OBD port. Unplugged all OBD devices and has worked fine since - except yesterday - but the truck legit went to a deep sleep (which it told me in the app) because it was -40 with the windchill and I didn't plug in - whoops!

Premium connectivity is not needed for Remote Climate Start. I do not have it, and remote climate start works fine. You may have a glitch with the connected services in general. Try going into Connected Service in the menu on the car, turn off all connected services and turn the ones you want back on. Verify you have the cellular connectivity icon by the HotSpot swith (usually the switch is off but it will show if it is connected to the cellular network). This sometimes clears up connectivity glitches.
